Is this the latest joke circulating on Facebook? No.
It’s probably a night at The 15th Annual Sunburst Convention
of Celebrity Impersonators and Look A Likes.
This annual convention is taking place again here in Orlando. It is being held on property at The Florida
Hotel and Conference Center.
The public is invited to attend the two showcases on September
1 and 2, 2017 where they will see over 45 professional celebrity impersonators
perform and appear on stage each day.
Each day’s showcase will feature different “stars”.
The convention is held each year as a way for professional
celebrity impersonators and talent agents from across the country to meet face
to face and get together on bookings and appearances. These professional entertainers are booked at
corporate events, fairs, festivals, casinos, cruise ships and night clubs
across the US, making it a multi-million (if not billion) dollar industry. This year, the public is invited to attend the
showcases .
Greg M and Jackie Thompson are producers of the convention,
having started it back in 2004. “During the day it’s business, and at night
it’s party time.” says Greg M Thompson. The convention has been featured on CNN, The
Rachael Ray Show, FUSE TV, The Tonight Show, The Daily Buzz and many more
television shows. It was the featured
subject of “Just About Famous”, a documentary that is currently running on NETFLIX.
