It’s probably a night at The 20th Annual Sunburst Convention
of Celebrity Impersonators. This annual convention is taking place again in
Orlando. It is being held on property at
The Florida Hotel and Conference Center attached to The Florida Mall.
The public is invited to attend parts of the convention
where they will see over 75 professional celebrity impersonators on stage. All entertainers are available for photos and
will be mixing and mingling after the showcase each day which will be Friday
and Saturday, September 6th and 7th.
For the second year, the convention will feature what is
being billed as The Biggest Night Of The Year for The Celebrity Tribute
Industry. The Sunburst Gala of Celebrity
Impersonators is open to the public to attend.
Tickets are only $35 and include a Red Carpet Walk, numerous photo
stations, a live DJ and dance motivator, live performances by top impersonators,
a cash bar and several dozen professional celebrity impersonators in full
costume and character, mixing and mingling with the guests.
The convention is held each year as a way for professional
celebrity impersonators from across the country to meet face to face, to have
fun and get up to date on the latest marketing and promotional trends. These professional entertainers are booked at
corporate events, fairs, festivals, casinos, cruise ships and night clubs
across the US, making it a multi-million (if not billion) dollar industry.
Greg and Jackie Thompson are producers of the convention,
having started it back in 2004. The
convention has been featured on CNN, The Rachael Ray Show, FUSE TV, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The Daily Buzz and many more television shows. It was the featured subject of “Just About
Famous”, a documentary short that is winning awards at film festivals across
the United States, and has also been featured and written about in numerous
magazine and newspapers all over the world.
